Katie & John’s Perry Belmont House Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party (planned by Marriage & Mimosas) was held in the most elegant and iconic DC setting.

It’s no surprise that guests are wowed by the stunning venue, the mansion was specifically built in 1906 with the intent to host opulent gatherings. And if it feels like you’ve been transported to Europe when you step through the door, that’s all by design, too. Famed French architect, Eugene Sanson, designed the grand estate in the Beaux-Arts architectural style, and it remains one of the best examples of the style in DC.

Guests were greeted in the Grand Ballroom to custom cocktails and piano music as a musician plays the Perry Belmont House’s golden Steinway B Grand piano. Dinner in the Grand Salon included toasts and decadent pasta dishes being made in the corner for guests to see the process before enjoying the delicious meal.

The groom’s cake was a surprise to John, who laughed as he saw his own likeness surrounded by all his favorite things. The cake showed John, an avid traveler, sitting on top of the world, next to little loaves of bread and holding a tennis racket. One of the couple’s other welcome events featured a tennis event to further infuse the groom’s love of the sport into their celebrations.

After dinner, more guests began to arrive for the welcome party portion of the evening to help celebrate the couple before their wedding the following day at the National Cathedral and Willard InterContinental!
