How They Met

Tara and Dane first met at cheerleading tryouts in college. His best friend was her coach and told him that there was a girl there that he needed to meet. It was not love at first sight or even second or third. But everyone kept joking that they were going to get married one day because they were so much alike.

After spending a lot of time together, the two became really good friends. Their friendship developed into them dating on and off a little bit. In August 2016 they decided to make it official, and they spent all of their time together. They now totally agree with their friends who thought they were so much alike!

How He Asked

So Tara admits that she already knew he had the ring because she was very nosey! But she knew it was at his parents’ place in Charlottesville. She figured there was no way for him to get the ring until he went there to visit them. Little did Tara know, Dane had arranged for her mom to get the ring for him.

Tara and Dane visited a Botanical Gardens with their family and were taking pictures all throughout the gardens. The last place they went was a beautiful fountain and Dane got down on one knee!

Tara shared, “I don't remember too much of what he said, but all I heard was, ‘I want to spend the rest of my life with you.’ I of course cried tears of joy and said, ‘Yes!’ a thousand times. I'm so excited to marry this amazing man.”
