Malden Hill Wedding - Beth + Ellison

Beth and Ellison knew from the moment they stepped on the property at Malden Hill Wedding Venue, that they’d found the place they wanted to get married! With its sweeping rural views as far as the eye can see, it’s easy to know what they fell in love with! The barn was actually built to house events recently, but Beth and Ellison would be the first couple to have a wedding there.

The couple wove so many special little touches to make their day unique!

Beth is the talented owner and head baker at Sugar + Twine bakery and coffee shop in Carytown so guests were naturally treated to amazing food, including a crab picking station and tons of baked sweets from her shop.

Ellison works at the Virginia Natural Heritage Project and is an avid birder. Ring bearers brought the rings down the aisle in bindles (bandana bags on sticks!) Guests signed a vintage Audobon print instead of a traditional guest book. Boutonnieres featured beautiful feathers, and the food truck was appropriately called ‘Mean Bird.’

The ceremony was officiated by Beth’s brother, and another brother walked her down the aisle in their late dad’s stead.

At the reception, the couple enjoyed their first dance and then Ellison danced with his mother. Beth and her mom then hit the dance floor and for a moment, it looked as though a tear-filled slow dance would choke up the guests. Then the music shifted and the spunky ladies began a synchronized line dance, joined by the women in Beth’s family and friend group!
