UVA Wedding at Inn at Darden | Virginia Wedding Photographer

Almost exactly two years from their first date, Cherise and Jeremy welcomed family and friends to celebrate with them in Charlottesville at The Inn at Darden for their UVA wedding on the north grounds!

Cherise had just celebrated becoming Dr. at UVA’s medical school graduation the weekend before, and so the campus held special meaning for the couple!

THE PROPOSAL

Jeremy and Cherise love to travel, and so they booked a trip to Paris. They decided to visit the Eiffel tower on their first night there and walk up the 669 stairs to the second floor. When they got there, they luckily found someone who spoke English to document our accomplishment. The next thing Cherise knew, Jeremy was down on one knee asking her to marry him!

THE WEDDING

Cherise opened the door to let me in to the room where she was in the final stages of having her hair styled, and I was greeted by the biggest smile! It’s one of the really remarkable things about the couple—the two of them truly have ‘megawatt’ smiles!

Cherise and her bridesmaids headed outside on the way to the ceremony and we grabbed a few photos as they helped her put on all her bling! I had so much fun photographing Cherise’s sparkly bridal details. Her earrings, necklace, bracelet were all completely covered in diamondy stones and so was her tiara! (If you really are feeling like a princess on your big day—a tiara will definitely seal the deal!)

Her dad met us out there and Cherise shared the sweetest Daddy-Daughter First Look with him! These two share such a special bond and it was evident how emotional he got any time they were together!

Her mom helped her with her veil, and then the golf cart whisked the bridal party away to the ceremony site where the groom and groomsmen were waiting!

The ceremony space was elegant with fireplaces flanking either end, rows of chandeliers running the length of the room and floor to ceiling windows beautifully lighting the space.

The couple said their vows, exchanged rings, and took part in a sand ceremony signifying the joining of their two families. After the officiant declared them husband and wife, the two ‘jumped the broom,’ sweeping away their former single lives, cares and concerns and jumping into the new adventure of married life together!

They entered the reception after cocktail hour and immediately surprised the delighted guests with a beautifully choreographed First Dance!

Then Cherise and Jeremy danced with their parents before their best man, maid of honor and parents honored them with toasts. Many of the stories referenced how much they each loved the Lord, and how wonderful it was that His timing brought Cherise and Jeremy together! Before dinner was served, the guests watched a ‘movie’ of the couple’s history featuring photos from their childhood through the present.

After dinner, everyone enjoyed some time dancing and laughing! Then Cherise and Jeremy shared another choreographed dance before everyone came together on the building steps for a beautiful sparkler send-off!
