Maymont Park Wedding

Teddi and Bobby met five years ago through mutual friends. About a year and a half ago, Bobby surprised Teddi by proposing to her at their new home. While the couple now calls Richmond, VA home, Teddi grew up out west so the couple had been planning a destination wedding in California.

They postponed their planned celebration at a Malibu, CA country club overlooking the sea, but they didn’t want to wait indefinitely to get married. So they found an officiant, signed the paperwork, and then joined me at beautiful Maymont Park so we could capture some images to document this special day.

These two make such a great team! Not only did Bobby help Teddi bustle her dress, but he was also responsible for her pretty updo hairstyle (with a little bobby-pin help from Teddi.)

Teddi was a trooper — it’s not exactly easy trekking around in a ballgown, but she was an absolute pro, even managing to keep her dress out of the water on the stepping stones in the Japanese gardens.

I loved seeing people’s expressions as Teddi and Bobby would walk by. Passersby yelled their congratulations from a distance, and people got the biggest smiles on their faces.

Teddi + Bobby, it was such a pleasure meeting you both and getting to know you! And it was a real honor to be able to document your wedding day for you!
