Richmond Engagement Photos at VMFA and Libby Hill Park

Liz + Andrew’s VMFA Engagement Photos + Church Hill Engagement Session at Libby Hill

For Liz + Andrew’s Richmond engagement photos, we photographed one summer evening at both the VMFA and Libby Hill Park in Church Hill.

We started off at the VMFA because it’s one of the couple’s favorite places! In fact, Andrew actually gave Liz one very big surprise there recently. . . a VMFA proposal!

They had made plans to meet family at the museum. Liz had showed up with a Starbucks tea in hand, and he suggested they walk up the stairs to the platform up top. Little did she know, that his sister was hiding behind some trees there with a camera! He asked Liz for her cup under the pretense of ‘trying her drink.’ He then set down her cup (so her hands would be free!), and got down on one knee to present her with a beautiful diamond engagement ring!

I’ve been thinking I need to hand out ‘class superlatives’ to my MAP couples, and I think Andrew is probably my top contender for Class Clown! He loves to tease Liz, and he kept both of us cracking up the entire time!

When we headed to the spot where the proposal had happened, Andrew of course had to re-enact the moment! And then later when we were in Church Hill, he dropped to one knee again on the cobblestones and presented Liz with a ring pop. I love seeing Liz laughing so hard at his antics!

I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this winter at The Estate at Independence Golf Club! Until then, enjoy a few of my favorite images from their August engagement session in Richmond, VA at the VMFA and Church Hill!
