Sweetest Sylvanside Farm Wedding
Rachel & Peter’s Sylvanside Farm Wedding featured many personal touches, including cakes baked by family members and handmade family recipe books gifted to guests as favors.
Nestled in the rolling countryside of Northern Virginia, a Sylvanside Farm wedding in Loudoun County offers couples the perfect balance of rustic elegance and relaxed sophistication. (Plus Clydesdales!!!)
With sweeping pastoral views, historic charm, and thoughtful details around every corner, this beloved Virginia wedding venue is ideal for couples dreaming of a timeless celebration grounded in natural beauty.
A Classic Countryside Wedding Vision
For Peter and Rachel, the vision was refreshingly simple: a classic wedding where guests would feel comfortable, welcomed, and genuinely joyful.
Sylvanside Farm’s open fields and peaceful setting provided a stunning backdrop, allowing the beauty of Loudoun County’s countryside to shine. Seasonal Virginia flowers played a starring role, embracing the colors of late summer with lush pinks, corals, whites, and deep burgundies—highlighting dahlias and zinnias at their peak.
A Love Story Rooted in Washington, D.C.
The couple met while working at a Washington, DC–based naval architecture firm. Though both engineers, they worked in different departments. Their story began quietly when Peter found the nerve and the perfect excuse to stop by Rachel’s office one day to start a conversation. That thoughtful beginning mirrored the tone for their wedding, which was filled with intention and warmth.
Personal Details That Made It Meaningful
Dusty blue was highlighted in the bridesmaid dresses and stationery, and was the ideal color to let the warm-colored florals really shine.
At the reception, guests discovered one of the most heartfelt details: hand-crafted family recipe booklets made by the bride, her sister, and mother. Two volumes featured treasured family recipes from both sides, including beloved favorites like Mema’s Almond Bars and Grammy’s 7-Layer Bars—along with the cake recipes for the desserts baked by the bride and her sisters for the celebration.
A Sylvanside Farm Signature Experience
During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed one of Sylvanside Farm’s most charming features: Clydesdale horses. Feeding them carrots added a joyful, unforgettable moment that perfectly captured the relaxed elegance of a Sylvanside Farm wedding in Loudoun County. (Check out the photos of guests feeding the horses by putting carrots in their own mouths first—so funny!)
Rachel and Peter, you two are the best, and even a little rain couldn’t keep your day from shining brightly. Your joy was absolutely contagious, and everyone had the best time celebrating you.
