Virginia Wedding Photographer Behind the Scenes
We’re Virginia wedding photographers who LOVE what we do, and I think it shows! Not only are our MAP Couples the best, but we love working with all our vendor friends, too. Here’s a glimpse behind the scenes at just a handful of our 2019 weddings.
Virginia Wedding Photographer Behind the Scenes
Our Fernweh Film Co. friends, Drew and Rachel are so much fun to work with. My usual second photographer, Marena was on hand and we were lucky to have a THIRD shooter, Kayla, along for this wedding! As you can tell, we had a blast at Liz & Andrew’s Estate at Independence wedding!
MAP Couples Valerie & Scott at their Northern Neck wedding, and Kristen & Mike at their Castle Hill Cider wedding (with my second shooter, Marena!)
Most of you know I don’t enjoy being in front of the camera. But while I was in Paris, I couldn’t resist having a few photos taken in front of the Eiffel Tower! I can’t wait to go back to Paris.
I love seeing MAP couples’ faces when they first see some of their images from the day!
MAP couple Tabitha and Austin are the sweetest! Their Sorella Farms wedding was as emotional as it was elegant.
MAP Couple Annie and Austin! I’ve known Annie since she was 3 years old, and it was sooooo special for me to be asked to capture their day!
Our DJ and planner friends are the best!
A rare shot of me heading to Main Street Station for an event hosted by Katelyn James (Thanks, Crystal!) And a shot of me directing the groomsmen for wedding party photos.
I love to get photos of the veil floating in mid-air! Brittney from A Little Party Events was so helpful all day, and I loved working with her! (And she’s a great veil tosser, too!)
Althea & Seyi’s German and Nigerian wedding was a whirlwind! I loved all the ways they incorporated their traditions into their multi-cultural wedding at Estate at Independence.
Derek Fowler Productions teams up with our MAP team often, and it’s always a pleasure to work with Derek!
Another one of my FAVORITE planners to work with is Tanya at Starry Night Events. She’s a great floral designer and planner and is so easy to work with and kind!
More of our DJ friends!
MAP couple Christy + Tyler’s wedding at Early Mountain Vineyards was a dream! I loved working with their venue and all their vendors so much!
I led a team of photographers for a styled shoot at Mount Ida Farms in December. Styled shoots are a great way to get to practice in the off-season and refine your skills shooting everything involved in a wedding without the pressure of delivering for your client. Of course, you’re also sharing the space with a bunch of other photographers, so it’s still tricky to get great shots without an elbow or head in the frame!
Getting MAP groom Andrew ready for his First Look with his beautiful bride, Liz! (Side note, if I were giving senior superlatives to my couples, Andrew would definitely be named MAP Class Clown. He kept us in stitches!)
Photo and video teams set up to capture a First Look!
Lining up bridesmaids for some quick and COOOOLLLDD portraits before we head off to the ceremony!
I enjoy working with Drew with Fernweh Film Co because we tend to think similarly as far as where we should stand, etc. to get the shots we want. It’s perfect for staying out of each other’s shots!
My second shooter, Marena, busted me as I was singing to her during the reception from across the dance floor. My team loves what we do, and I think you can tell we’re having fun doing it—ha!
Our videographer friends from Austin Bess Video Productions couldn’t resist jumping onto the dance floor for a few moments at this reception at River Uplands Farm in Millboro, VA. Such a fun team to work with!
Planner Jane Utley, The Wedding Woman, coordinates reception activities with the DJ!
Planner/Florist Jane Utley’s (The Wedding Woman) team at the end of the night at Annie & Austin’s Madison at the Mill wedding!
My second photographer Marena standing in as we tested flashes before the sparkler exit at River Uplands Farm! (How cute is she?)
Thanks to my second photographer for this fun shot of me at work! This image reminds me so much of when I saw lions laying in the fields in the Serengeti!
MAP couple Kellee and Randy. I can’t even say how much I enjoyed getting to know these two!!
