Upper Shirley Vineyards Wedding in spring
Upper Shirley Vineyards Wedding | Meghan + Jim
Destination Wedding at Upper Shirley Vineyards
Meghan and Jim were hoping to escape the cold Michigan weather when they chose a gorgeous Virginia vineyard for their destination wedding. This spring's fickle weather threatened all week to bring a rare March snowstorm for their Upper Shirley Vineyards wedding, but the day ended up being beautiful for their outdoor wedding ceremony!
The couple met last July over sushi and wine. Jim admits to being immediately smitten with the smart beauty, Meghan who worked as a popular TV newscaster. He immediately called her for a second date. . . and she actually said no, citing 'lack of chemistry.' Fortunately, Jim found a funny way to persist, and a week later they became inseparable.
Upper Shirley Vineyards holds a special place in the couples' hearts. It was the first place Jim ever visited in Virginia. . . it's where the family gathered to celebrate the couple's engagement. . . and now, it's where the two of them became husband and wife.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from Meghan and Jim's beautiful Upper Shirley Vineyards wedding alongside the James River.

With its raised ceilings and chandeliers, Upper Shirley's bridal suite is stunning! (And so is Meghan's Jim Hjelm couture gown with a detachable train--what a show stopper!)
I love when couples share a private moment before their ceremony! First Looks are so emotional and sweet.

First Dance
Father-daughter dance
The parents of the bride were so much fun to watch dancing! They looked like they were having a blast.
I love the joy on Jim's mom's face as she danced with her grandson!
Meghan's baby niece stole the show. That dress though. . .
How cute was this? After Meghan and Jim fed each other cake, they shared some with their eager kiddos, too!
