Castle Hill Cider Wedding | Kristen + Mike
Family and friends at Kristen + Mike’s Castle Hill Cider wedding kept remarking about how much the couple has in common. They kidded that each had met his/her match in the other.
Aside from their obvious devotion to their family, the two share a deep love for Disney World Resorts. Kristen is also a huge Harry Potter fan and Mike is a die-hard Star Wars fan.
They featured little nods to their passions in ways that were both whimsical and meaningful throughout the day. At each table, guests would spy small collectibles in the midst of the greenery of the centerpieces. Little Lego characters, vintage shot glasses and even a Disney pin lanyard were woven throughout the tablescapes.
The couple shared a First Look by a window overlooking the stunning mountain views by the water. Their ceremony was held in front of a beautiful arbor in the barn with twinkle lights overhead. The doors behind the couple were thrown wide so guests could take in the views as the couple said their I do’s!
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour while family captured some photos and then the wedding party headed outside for a few more photos and for some Just Married portraits of the couple!
Shortly after the couple began their First Dance at the reception, they were interrupted by the sound of Star Wars music as Darth Vader, Storm Troopers and other Star Wars characters made a surprise appearance! The entourage posed for photos during the reception, and guests were invited to contribute to a charity benefiting those with autism if they wished. The bride works with individuals with autism and the cause is dear to the couples’ hearts. The donation jar quickly filled as happy guests grabbed their selfies with the Star Wars stars.
After dinner, Kristen and her dad surprised guests by breaking from their traditional slow dance into a choreographed fast dance set to some of her dad’s favorite rock songs. Mike and his mom shared a mother-son dance, and the best man and co-matrons of honor shared toasts to the couple. One bridesmaid ended her toast by combining words to Michael Jackson songs into a medley she sang to share sentiments for the couple.
Kristen and Mike, it was so much fun photographing your wedding day, and I wish you all the very best for your happily ever after!
As you scroll through the photos below, keep an eye out for Kristen’s BB-8 droid heels, and note that their cake topper features a Star Wars quote, too! “I love you. I know.” Even the s’mores favors received the star treatment—they were labeled ‘May the s’mores be with you.’
