Haley & Blake's Army Navy Club wedding in Arlington was an absolute summertime treat!

When my fellow photographer friend Molly Lichten realized that her new baby girl would be arriving right around Haley & Blake's wedding day, she reached out to help the couple find a photographer. I happened to have their date available, so we hopped on a call together, and I instantly loved these two!

Army Navy Club is in Arlington and boasts views of the Washington DC skyline, including the Washington Monument. The rich history at this DC wedding venue lends an air of timelessness to weddings held here.

It was a treat working with this sweet couple and seeing how Lane Stewart Events made their wedding vision come to life. One of my favorite parts of the day was shooting portraits with the couple including their sweet pups! I loved seeing how excited their puppers were to see them!

A few tips in case you want your dogs to join you for portraits! After you make sure it’s ok with your venue, just ask your wedding photographer for the optimum time in your timeline to grab some pup portraits. Have a dog sitter (or family member/friend) bring the dog to the venue and watch your dog until portrait time. Make sure your dog’s been fed and has plenty of water—especially on hot days. After portraits, have your dog sitter take your pupper home! (Oh, and I definitely recommend a flower wreath and neutral leash so your pup looks as festive as you do!)

In the reception space where Haley and Blake danced the night away, natural light poured in, creating a welcoming and inviting environment.
