Dumbarton House Wedding | Grace + Mark

A lovely spring day brought Grace and Mark's friends and family together for their Dumbarton House Wedding with Lovely Florals

Their love story began through the digital world. While they were both new to dating apps, fate brought them together on Coffee Meets Bagel. A misfired joke left Grace to stop chatting with him, but weeks later, Mark couldn't stop thinking about her. So they decided to go for dinner, and while enjoying some drinks and food, they shared many laughs. Both realized there was something real there that they needed to pursue.

From the very start of the day, Grace and her bridesmaids set the tone for a day filled with love and laughter. The girls wore matching robes as they prepared for the day ahead. It was a beautiful way to celebrate the bond between friends and the shared excitement for Grace and Mark's union.

Each bridesmaid wore a unique white and blue floral pattern dress of their choosing, (one bridesmaid even made her own dress!) and the mismatch patterns and styles blended together so beautifully! I love this trend so much.

An incredible rooftop overlooking the city at the fantastic Georgetown AirBNB where Grace got ready for her big day made for a beautiful location to do the first look between her and her father. As she made her way toward her father with the Washington Monument visible in the background, emotions ran high. Seeing her father turn around with the biggest smile was a touching moment between them.

Mark and Grace exchanged vows in The north garden of Dumbarton House. This made for such a pretty setting, and the added florals made the space look even more beautiful. Friends and family cheered with excitement as these two were finally newlyweds!

The overall aesthetic of the wedding was a garden dinner style, characterized by elegant decor and a romantic atmosphere. The Dumbarton House provided the ideal backdrop with its picturesque gardens and historic charm. Their florist Kate did an incredible job choosing the perfect florals that created an ethereal setting.

Korean Paebek Tea Wedding Ceremony

Later in the evening, the couple embraced their cultural heritage with a traditional Korean Paebek Tea ceremony. The couple changed into traditional Korean wedding attire and guests gathered on the upper terrace to witness this meaningful ritual.

In this Korean wedding ceremony, the family of the bride welcomes the groom, and the groom’s family welcomes the bride. As the families are served tea by the couple, the families offer blessings for the couple’s marriage.

The groom’s parents tossed chestnuts for the couple to ‘catch,’ to represent the hope that the couple will be blessed with children. The groom also carried the bride, wearing bright red circles on her cheek, on his back. After the piggyback ride, guests were invited to partake of the many sweet treats that were laid out on display as part of the Korean ceremony.

Congratulations, Mark and Grace! I had such a wonderful time getting to capture your wedding and being a witness to your love story. May your married life be as wonderful as your wedding day.
