Molly & Bijan combined their cultures in a meaningful way for their multicultural St. Regis Washington, DC wedding.
Molly & Bijan’s wedding day was a celebration steeped in elegance, history, and heartfelt intention — the perfect match for the timeless architecture of The Jefferson Memorial and The St. Regis. Washington, DC. Their vision was classic and understated, allowing meaningful details and a rich cultural blend to shine with quiet sophistication.
Their love story began in Sacramento in December 2019 after a post-marathon celebration. Molly’s training partner, Meghan, was dating Bijan’s roommate, Doug — a pairing that sparked an introduction, a friendship, and by February 2020, the start of something much deeper. Naturally, Meghan and Doug were part of the wedding party!
Family legacy played a beautiful role in their day. Molly’s wedding band once belonged to her great-grandmother, first worn in 1922 — nearly a century of love passing from one generation to the next. Her engagement ring carries meaning as well: her mother’s original setting, paired with a new center stone hand-selected by Bijan.
Molly & Bijan also honored their cultures, blending Molly’s Jewish traditions with Bijan’s Persian heritage in a celebration that felt uniquely and authentically theirs.
Before the ceremony, they each headed out for a fun ride with their wedding party to the Jefferson Memorial where the couple shared a first look and private vows. One of my favorite moments was when the couple had a rock, paper, scissors showdown to determine who would read their vows first. After couple portraits, their wedding party joined in for photos.
Molly & Bijan, your love story is rooted in friendship, enriched by heritage, and your day was framed by timeless architecture — truly an elegant beginning. Congratulations, you two, thanks for letting me be part of all the fun!
