Pop Castle Wedding in the Northern Neck

Mary & Thax’s picturesque waterfront Pop Castle wedding in the Northern Neck was the quintessential river weekend of their dreams!

The couple met in English class during their sophomore year of high school. They started dating senior year and have been together ever since!

Mary went to college at Longwood University, and Thax went to Hampden-Sydney College, just 15 minutes away. They say they’ve had the best time growing up together, and many of their core memories happened at the river.

Mary shared, “We are so fortunate that our friends and family have had so many wonderful summer days together on this water, and we want the day to feel like just that! Relaxed, fun for all, and full of dancing!” They wanted the ultimate river weekend!

The couple shared a beautiful first look and private vows before taking portraits with each other, their wedding party, and family. (So they could enjoy cocktail hour with their guests!)

The rain held off until after the ceremony when all the guests were under the tent, enjoying the reception, and slacked off just long enough for everyone to enjoy fireworks set off over the water—the perfect end to a perfect day!

Mary & Thax, it was a privilege to photograph your wedding weekend. You and your whole family and friends were so fun to work with, and you truly had the most incredible day.
