Ashtyn + Matt’s Belle Isle Engagement Photos

I met up with Ashtyn and Matt for their Belle Isle engagement photos in front of Tredegar Ironworks, and it was a perfect fall evening!

Ashtyn and Matt met online, and realized they shared a love of board games. One weekend, they were playing a card game called ‘5 Second Rule’ in their new home on the floor in their unfurnished living room. In this game, one person reads off a category and the other person has 5 seconds to respond with three answers. It was Ashtyn’s turn to guess so Matt was holding a card in his hand and he read, ‘name three ways to say, ‘Yes!’” Unaware of what he was doing, Ashtyn started naming ways to say, ‘yes’ and that’s when he pulled out the ring and asked!

I’m a huge fan of games myself (ask my poor family—I break out half a dozen of them every time we’re all together) so I love that Matt incorporated their shared interest into his proposal.
