Estate at River Run Wedding with Stunning Florals Featured on Style Me Pretty
Caroline and Ryan's lavish Estate at River Run Wedding was on a spring day that was so beautiful even two rainbows couldn’t resist making an appearance! Their wedding day is featured on Style Me Pretty, and I'm so excited for everyone to be inspired by seeing this sweet couple’s vision come to life.
The couple met while working in the radiology department at VCU Health. They both climbed at Peak Midlothian climbing gym and eventually started going together after work. This activity that they both enjoyed was just the needed spark to draw them closer together, and now they have a beautiful future together!
This Maidens, Virginia, wedding venue has quickly become one of my favorites and I love photographing weddings here. The estate is set on a hill with sweeping views overlooking the James River. Plus, Kim Moody and her team truly couldn’t be nicer to work with!
We truly had a dream team of vendors for this one, Amy Marie Events and Kirsten Beatley Films were both awesome to work with, as usual. And special thanks to my second shooter, Emily, who was wonderful as always.
Caroline described their wedding day aesthetic as romantic and whimsical with a Bridgerton floral flair, and a jazz club reception. Guests were welcomed with a wall of champagne glasses when they arrived at the estate. A guest book featuring bunnies (a nod to the couple’s beloved pet rabbit) was on a table at the champagne wall. Guests then walked down the path to the terrace, where they checked in to find their reserved seat for the ceremony.
Ryan and Caroline were the first couple at The Estate at River Run to marry on the blue stone terrace facing the estate. As Caroline and the wedding party walked down the aisle, guests were treated to the beautiful views of the James River as the backdrop. There was a stunning floral arch over a doorway as well as incredible florals lining the aisle.
During the ceremony, the couple’s immediate family joined them and they shared wine and they welcomed Ryan and Caroline into each other’s family.
Rather than a sit-down dinner, the reception featured multiple stations across the estate. The couple wanted to encourage mingling and exploring the property. A chocolate tasting room, a caricature artist, and a lobster mac-and-cheese station were just a few of the options! The floral-encircled cake table held a place of honor in the center of the terrace.
After dinner, The band Good Shot Judy played throughout the halls to entice guests to join them downstairs, where a wonderful jazz club atmosphere awaited. Caroline and Ryan impressed their guests with an amazing choreographed first dance!
The couple treated their guests to a true experience on their wedding day. Everyone enjoyed a night of dancing, eating, drinking, and laughing with friends outdoors at the candlelit, floral-draped tables. At the end of the evening, the couple walked hand in hand through a tunnel of sparklers lined up by the smiling faces of their loved ones.
Caroline and Ryan, it has been a blast working with you both. From Caroline’s bridal shoot at the estate and your rehearsal festivities through your wedding day, I’ve truly enjoyed getting to know you both better. You two are so great together, and I wish you a lifetime of happiness.
