This beautiful Keswick Vineyards Wedding was a hot one, but you'd never know it from this super cool couple.

Keswick Vineyards is a beautiful Virginia wedding venue nestled in the middle of gorgeous mountains near Charlottesville. Many couples consider this area a bucket-list destination. The region has other popular wedding venues that are favorites of mine, including Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards, Early Mountain Vineyards, King Family Vineyards, and Barboursville Vineyards. Keswick Vineyards is the perfect blend of classical charm and a historical atmosphere. Whether it's the elegant water fountain, the rich vineyards, or the pristine reflecting pool, there are many great spots for your wedding portraits here!

Before the ceremony, K & C shared a private first look. My favorite part about couples doing a first look is seeing the emotions it sparks within them. Brides often worry that their grooms won’t be as excited to see them walk down the aisle after a first look, but that's not true! In fact, I often find that it's the opposite!

When it's just the two of you, there's no pressure from your guests watching to see what your reaction is. Both of you can let your guards down and take as much time together to soak it all in. (He won’t have to wait through the whole ceremony to tell you how beautiful you look!) Doing a first look will often allow you to capture more portraits of the two of you, too. And, you won't feel rushed to get your photographs taken, and you may even have time to enjoy cocktail hour with your friends and family.

A first look can also be a life-saver in allowing us to capture outdoor portraits for winter weddings when there aren’t as many hours of daylight to take advantage of! All that being said, I totally get that first looks aren't for everyone, so if you are planning on seeing each other for the very first time when you walk down the aisle—that's amazing, too, and we will work to make a perfect photography timeline regardless of what you choose.

Another wedding day trend I’m on board with—donut trucks!! At this wedding, they had both a donut truck and a photo booth, which made quite the statement in front of the venue in their matching red trailers. The couple grabbed a cute photo opp with both vendors before grabbing a donut and heading back into their reception after portraits. I may or may not have also grabbed a donut..and perhaps one for the road, too. (Donuts are one of the world's perfect foods after all. Ha!)
