Krissy & Alan's stylish Harpers Ferry engagement session landed on a sunny and warm fall day. I'm already so excited to see them again for their spring Birkby House Wedding in Middleburg!
Alan and Krissy met through the dating app, Bumble. The new modern way to find love! When they planned their first date, they weren't looking for anything serious, but they wanted to see where it would take them.
They had no idea that they were meant for each other, and they ended up dating for five years! They got coffee and then went to a park on their first date. The park they chose ended up being more like a mosquito-infested swamp, but they still sat on the dock chatting until the sun went down.
In July 2020, Krissy and Alan decided to escape the humidity and adventure out of the house. They headed down to Shenandoah mountains and had a spur-of-the-moment picnic along skyline drive.
They had explored a few overlooks and waited for the afternoon crowds to clear. Finally, they settled on "Little Hogback Overlook," which they had all to themselves. As Krissy started setting up their dinner, Alan went to the car to get a few more things. Once he returned, everything fell into place, and he got down on one knee to propose to her during a beautiful sunset in the mountains.
These two celebrated with champagne and a candlelight picnic. They stayed there long after sundown, just taking this moment in and celebrating their engagement.
It was the perfect proposal for the two of them. Krissy knew a proposal was in the cards, but she had no idea it was coming that night! She assumed there would be no way to hide it from her since they were both stuck at home due to the pandemic. Alan did a perfect job planning the proposal!
I met up with these two love birds for their Harpers Ferry engagement session, and the location was dreamy. Even though we were in West Virginia, it felt like we were in a French countryside town.
This small, quaint town has so much character. Houses and shops reflect the town's history as a transportation hub from 1800 to 1860. The National Register of Historic Places has designated this historic town as a National Historic District.
