Carter and Eric headed to VMFA to begin their session for Richmond engagement photos. Then we headed to the second location where Eric almost proposed. . .
The couple first met when they were freshmen in college. Carter shared that she had a crush on Eric, but that he thought they were just good friends. The two didn’t see each other for 10 years. But right before Carter moved to Colorado, she found an old photo of the two of them reached out to say hi. They had lunch together, and now five years, two houses, and one baby later here they are!
The two of them love to hike along the river, and on one of these hikes over to Belle Isle, Eric tried to get Carter to stop on the pedestrian bridge right as the sun was setting. It was the perfect romantic gesture. . . or rather, it would have been! Carter was so focused on continuing the hike, and was into ‘exercise’ mode so she didn’t want to stop! She kept kidding Eric that he needed to keep up! Little did Carter know that Eric was trying to propose!
Eventually, Eric would catch up with Carter, and later in the evening, a proposal did happen—just not how Eric had planned!
Carter & Eric are quite the adventurous couple, and I had a great time hearing about their travels and places they’ve lived as we explored VMFA and Belle Isle. I can’t wait for their Sandbridge Beach Wedding this fall!
