Lucy and Chris couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful afternoon for their Maymont Park elopement photos, and even the wildlife couldn’t agree more!
Lucy is originally from the Dominican Republic and Chris is from Miami, but it wasn’t until they’d both relocated to Virginia that they would meet and fall in love while at the gym!
Chris will tell you that he doesn’t like to smile, but Lucy definitely puts the sparkle in Chris’ eye. When it came time to propose, he pulled out all the stops for the most romantic proposal! The two were at Luray Caverns where Chris arranged a private tour. Towards the end of the tour, Lucy spied a big heart made of rose petals and candles. It was there that Chris asked Lucy to be his wife.
Afterward, he arranged for their families to be there to celebrate, and he had one more surprise up his sleeve. He surprised Lucy one more time. This time he presented her with a puppy!
Lucy loves animals, so a puppy surprise was absolute perfection. And it’s like the wildlife at Maymont could sense how much she loves animals. As we were finishing Lucy and Chris’ portraits, we had one last stop. We made our way over to the gazebo, and the deer all started coming out of the woods.
The younger deer chased each other in circles and played together while we took the couple’s portraits. We were even able to sneak in a few photos with the deer right in the background alongside the couple!
Lucy and Chris, I wish the two of you much happiness with your pups in your new home! Thanks for such a magical evening in the park!
