Brooklyn Bridge Park & Brooklyn Heights Engagement Photos
Natalie & Ken’s Brooklyn Bridge engagement photos were a whirlwind tour of all the best locations for engagement photos in NYC!
These two live in Brooklyn, and are both talented creatives. Natalie is an art director for an ad agency and a wonderful painter, and Ken is a great street photographer who regularly captures beautiful shots in the locations where we wandering for their session. So I was very humbled when the two asked me to photograph their destination wedding in Alaska next year and was excited to capture their Brooklyn Bridge Park engagement photos!
I love that I’ll end up photographing this couple in both one of the most urban landscapes on the planet, and one of the most rural. Natalie grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, and she loves to share its beauty with others. The couple is excited to share her home state with all their friends from the east coast.
Natalie & Ken met in Brooklyn Bridge Park after a mutual friend got a group together to play volleyball seven years ago. The two ended up talking afterward as everyone walked home, and they both felt an immediate connection. Ken was planning to surprise Natalie by proposing this past spring in Paris, but when travel there couldn’t happen, he came up with a romantic new plan.
The two flew to Alaska to visit Natalie’s family this summer. And while they were hiking in Natalie’s favorite spot, Hatcher Pass, he proposed to her in the gorgeous mountain valley!
For their engagement session, we met up at their apartment briefly before heading out, and I was able to meet their adorable cat, Lancelot. Lance was way more interested in cat treats than posing, but we managed to get a few cute pix with him before we headed out for the evening. I think he could sense I was cat-people, but he just didn’t really care. As a cat mom, I can attest that my own feline will never cooperate whenever I want her to be in photos with me—ha!
Natalie & Ken, thanks so much for spending your evening wandering Brooklyn with me for your sunset session. I can’t wait for your Inn at Tern Lake wedding next year in Moose Pass, Alaska!
Everyone, get your scrolling fingers ready—I have a LOT of favorites to share from their Brooklyn Bridge engagement photo session in NY. (Don’t I always?)
