Richmond VA Wedding Photography
McKenna and John’s Maymont Park engagement session was so beautiful it made this Richmond wedding photographer’s heart skip a beat. McKenna is living in Covington and John is in Norfolk, so the two decided to meet me in Richmond for their engagement photos. And this first beautiful, sunny day after two solid weeks of winter weather definitely had me cheering.
McKenna and John met in high school marketing class, and the two started dating during John’s first year at VMI. On New Year’s Eve 2019, their four-year dating anniversary, John proposed at The Homestead Resort in Hot Springs.
McKenna and I had traveled to several of the same countries, and it was fun comparing notes on shared experiences. John joked that his deployment allowed him to visit several regions in the Middle East, but that he didn’t necessarily think he’d add them to anyone’s bucket list. Chatting with them brought up happy travel memories and really made me excited for when we can travel abroad again!
John has a surprise in store for McKenna because he’s picked their Honeymoon destination and isn’t letting on where they’ll be going! Based on the gleam in his eye as he teased her about it, I imagine she’ll love it and that they’ll have a blast.
