We had the perfect summer evening for Kenzie and Nick's Virginia House Engagement Photos!

These two met online but not through a dating app. Kenzie and Nick's friendship developed through playing online video games and being members of the same friend group. Their group decided to officially meet up in person at Kenzie's family beach house. Nick and Kenzie developed an instant connection that led them to get to know each other better.

While taking a trip on Skyline Drive through the Shenandoah National Park, Nick knew it was an excellent time to propose to Kenzie. With both of their precious pups in tow, they were going to have a picnic while on their drive. This special picnic turned into one of the most memorable days of their lives!

The Virginia House makes for the perfect setting for not only weddings but also engagement photos! It is such a treat to have this entire English estate all to yourselves. I've photographed plenty of intimate weddings at The Virginia House, and I love all the beautiful layers of the gardens that help make this historic venue the perfect backdrops for photos. Nick’s Mom & sister came along to help out, and it was a treat spending the afternoon with the couple and their crew!

I always tell my couples to have fun with their wardrobe for engagement sessions and I always like to see what wardrobe couples choose. Kenzie and Nick opted for three different similar looks, which made their gallery have some variety, but it all blended together beautifully.

As a designer shoe fan myself, I loved both pair of Kenzie’s gorgeous heels. One pair was a pointy-toed mule floral brocade shoe adorned with a sheer bow. Another pair was a white pump with beaded floral embellishments.

Nick and Kenzie are getting married in less than a month, and I am so excited to celebrate them! They picked the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden for their Richmond wedding venue because Kenzie's Oma and Opa also got married at a botanical garden in New York City. I love that they wanted to carry on a tradition of getting married at a botanical garden.
