Intimate Virginia House Wedding | Amanda + Keith
Intimate Virginia House Wedding in Richmond, VA
Amanda and Keith celebrated their marriage on the first anniversary of their original date with a beautiful and intimate Virginia House wedding with family.
The couple was joined by their children, parents, and the friend who introduced them! Unbeknownst to the two of them, their mutual friend, Nancy, tried for about two years to get Amanda and Keith to meet one another. “We're glad that she was so patient and persistent,” shared the groom. After the two shared a first date dinner in Carytown and movie at the historic Byrd Theater, the two realized that their friend was right!
Keith proposed on Christmas Day at Amanda's parents' home in Buffalo, NY. He knew how special it would be for Amanda’s parents to be there to share in the big moment. The last gift that Amanda opened from Keith on Christmas morning contained two matching His and Hers T-shirts. The first one said, "I stole her heart.” She opened it up and read it, a little perplexed as to the meaning. Then Keith got down on one knee as Amanda lifted the second shirt that read, "So I'm stealing his last name." When Amanda looked away from the shirt, Keith was holding the ring and asked her to marry him. She said, “yes!” (Side note: Amanda’s dad had stepped out of the room and ended up missing the whole thing!)
During the ceremony, Keith and the officiant waited at the base of the center stairs while Amanda and her dad walked around the top of the garden to come down the back stairs. All eyes were on the bride, her veil peeking just above the balustrade as she made her way to the ceremony site.
The couple incorporated a beautiful sand art ceremony where each person in attendance added sand to signify the joining of two families. After the couple added their sand, the cellist began to soulfully play, ‘I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You’ and the couple shared their first dance in the middle of the ceremony. Overcome with emotion, they shared a quick kiss, as the officiant teased that she hadn’t called time for that yet. Soon after, the officiant presented the couple. They shared another kiss before turning to their happy family, Amanda flinging her bouquet joyfully overhead.
Amanda & Keith, it was an honor to be able to document your special day for you! May the rest of your marriage be filled with as many laughs and kisses as this beautiful day.
