Meg & Bob had a gem of a waterfront Norfolk wedding on a gorgeous spring day.

It was a glorious, sunny day for this California couple to marry at their destination wedding in Virginia. Bob and Meg met at work when they were in a training program. They soon learned they had a lot in common, and the rest, as they say, was history!

Both Meg and Bob were blessed with the gift of creativity. Bob crafts custom surfboards, and when he's not using his talent, he's surfing! (Or thinking about surfing.) Meg is a talented jeweler, and she even designed and forged both of their wedding bands. She used gold from old family jewelry, and both wedding bands are just incredible.

Bob's parents' home was the perfect setting for their waterfront Norfolk wedding. They had an outdoor ceremony as the guests gazed toward the lovely couple with the beautiful blue water in the background. Once these two sealed their marriage with a kiss, guests threw dried roses as they departed the ceremony.

Bob and Meg had a charming waterfront wedding reception underneath a white tent that provided a blank slate for the colorful decor. The seating chart incorporated Meg's love for jewelry as each table was named after a different gemstone. Additionally, there was a rainbow-hued variety of gem-colored goblets at each table. There were several small vases filled with individual flowers at each table instead of one large floral centerpiece. This colorful minimalist decor brought beautiful pops of color to the tablescapes that mimicked the hues of fine gemstones.

The couple’s first sunset that they shared as a married couple was a stunner, and we headed down to the dock to grab a few photos to remember it by. Everyone enjoyed sharing laughs, creating memories, and dancing the night away at the reception.

The three-tiered wedding cake was decorated with richly colored fresh fruit and a few florals. At the end of the evening, guests lined up with sparklers to send off the new Mr. and Mrs!

Meg and Bob are going on a fantastic honeymoon to Greece, Croatia, and Turkey. I hope they have the time of their lives! (I’ll be heading to Greece, Italy, Croatia & Turkey myself this summer, and I can’t wait!)
