Jennie and Joe’s elopement couldn’t have been a more lovely and intimate Barboursville Vineyards Wedding day.

These two met at their friends’ annual pumpkin beer gathering! They created an incredible bond that night, and the rest, shall we say, is history.

Rather than having a large wedding, these two opted to elope in the fall with their close family by their side. They chose the perfect location, Barboursville Vineyards. With Barboursville being located in the heart of Virginia’s wine country, the grounds are just lovely. The 18th-century estate offers many wedding options, from a small elopement to a large wedding hosting up to 300 guests.

With 900 acres of vineyards and walking paths, we had plenty of areas to explore within the wide, rolling plateaus and foothills of the Southwest Mountains.

We captured wedding portraits at the Ruins of the James Barbour Mansion. This residence was designed by Thomas Jefferson and constructed in 1822. In 1884 on Christmas day, there was a fire at the home. The brick exterior that you can see in these wedding photos was the only part of the structure that survived the fire.

Joe and Jennie had their ceremony under the shade of a large willow tree. Their family gathered around while declaring their love, said their vows, and became a married couple!

For the reception, everyone sat down to enjoy a nice dinner to celebrate the marriage of Joe and Jennie. The celebration was held in a stately room at the vineyards, with all of them seated at a large family size table. This was the perfect way to end their special day!
