Jennah & Josh's Estate at River Run wedding was on a beautiful sunny day in July! They held their ceremony on the blue stone patio overlooking stunning views of the James River, and their reception was in the estate’s Tuscan Ballroom.

These two met at church while participating in the same small group when they were only in the 7th grade. While on mission trips together, the two forged a close friendship. After being friends for a while, Josh and Jennah realized their feelings went deeper, and they began dating. Years later, Josh sweetly proposed to Jennah at a family member's river house, and she happily said yes!

The Estate at River Run is a luxury wedding venue located between Richmond and Charlottesville. This stately venue overlooks the James River, and the architecture and antique furnishings make it an exquisite setting for weddings. The pool patio, bridal suite, green sitting room, grand staircases, and Wedgewood ballroom are just a few of my favorite locations on this property.

I knew this would be a dream wedding to shoot when I arrived in the bridal suite to find the bride and bridesmaids in the last stages of hair and makeup. These folks were troopers in the heat all day, and were always ready ahead of time. (We got so many bonus shots of them and extra bridal portraits because of this!) I love the bridal suite at the Estate—lots of light and the soft blue color looks fantastic in photos.

Before the ceremony started, Jennah and Josh shared the sweetest First Touch. They didn't want to see one another before the ceremony, but they still wanted to be able to chat and hold hands. During that time, they exchanged and read letters they'd written to each other.

Their ceremony overlooked the James River with a floral decorated wooden arch serving as the focal point. Josh’s eyes glistened but never left their lock on Jennah as her dad escorted her down one of the two arched staircases and the aisle toward her waiting groom. Josh’s father was one of the officiants, which made the service even more special. As a gesture of unity, they poured sand of different colors into a vase that symbolized their new union.

We had the prettiest sunset while we were taking a few portraits of them around the venue. I enjoyed listening to all the toasts from their friends and family at the reception. All of their guests had such a fun time celebrating the happy couple!

Jennah and Josh's wedding reception ended with their guests holding sparklers as they exited the venue in a special exit vehicle. A vintage corvette was awaiting them for their getaway that was once owned by Josh’s grandfather. Josh’s father had restored it so they could use it for this memorable exit!
