Louis and Rhiannon’s Mount Ida Farm & Vineyard Wedding at The Event Barn near Charlottesville, VA was a dream. (And so was working with these two lovebirds!)

Rhiannon and Louis’ love story began eight years ago. It was their first day of junior year of high school, and they were both in AP language class. Rhiannon and her friend sat behind Louis and his friend. They all introduced themselves, and after they met, Rhiannon whispered to her friend, “that guy’s kind of cute.” Louis still doesn’t believe her when she tells that story.

Throughout the rest of high school, their friendship grew. As time inched closer for them to commit to a college, Louis convinced Rhiannon to go to Virginia Tech. They started dating their freshman year of college, and from there, the rest is history!

Once they knew they wanted to marry each other, Rhiannon had told Louis that she wished to have her parents and two best friends at the proposal. Her friend, who lives 45 minutes away in Roanoke, showed up at her door, and she knew exactly what was happening. Louis had written letters for both of her friends that he wanted her to read aloud.

They helped her get ready and drove her to Carvin’s Cove, a special place to the couple where Rhiannon & Louis had gone together for many dates. After they arrived, their parents and his sister were waiting with sweet letters Louis had written for them too. Candles and rose petals aligned the dock with Louis waiting at the end to ask her to be his bride. As the sun set across the lake and behind the mountains, the scene was beautiful, almost like something from a movie.

After their fantastic proposal, it’s no surprise that everything about their wedding day was picture perfect. Rhiannon and her bridesmaids got ready in a nearby Airbnb that was so pretty! She shared a fun First Look with her bridesmaids as they stood in the loft and she stood in the great room below.

Once at the venue, she shared another emotional moment with her dad in the beautiful bridal suite at the Event Barn. Rhiannon and Louis both read letters that each had written to one another.

The couple shared a First Look, and Louis emotionally wept tears of joy when Rhiannon tapped him on the shoulder and he turned to see her standing there. (And of course, his eyes filled with emotion again as Rhiannon walked down the dramatic stone staircase toward him.

One of the heartfelt touches during their ceremony was a reserved seat in the front row for their beloved grandparents. The ceremony location was stunning, with a lakeside gazebo and a weeping willow tree next to it, making for amazing photos. Rhiannon fell in love with the gazebo site at the Charlottesville wedding venue for their ceremony. The ceremony was just a short drive to the event barn where their reception was held.

In addition to their First Dance and parent dances, Rhiannon’s talented mother, a talented singer, performed a song for the guests! As they ended their fantastic day, their bridal party lined up to blow bubbles for their exit.

Rhiannon & Louis, it was an absolute pleasure to get to know you both during your engagement session and wedding day! You make such a great team, and I was so happy to celebrate with you and your loved ones on your big day!
