UVA Wedding with Delfosse Vineyards Reception | Margaret + Kyle

Wedding at The University of Virginia

Kyle and Margaret’s lovely UVA Wedding and Delfosse Vineyards Wedding Reception was a heartfelt day with all their family and friends surrounding them.

Love has a way of finding people in the most unexpected places, and for Margaret and Kyle, it all began at the University of Virginia during their second year. They both were on the debate team, and while they started as friends, their connection grew. They went on a couple of dates, but it wasn’t until their fourth year that their paths finally aligned.

Margaret and Kyle had discussed getting engaged, and Kyle couldn’t contain his excitement that he shared the secret with a few friends. Despite a 40-degree chilly day with gusty winds, they went to a beach near Boston with their dog, Martha. Strolling along, Kyle found the perfect moment with the ocean as their backdrop. He dropped to one knee, and Martha was right there with them. The surprises continued as their immediate families, who had traveled from out of town, joined the celebration, making the day even more special.

These two knew that they wanted their wedding to take place in Charlottesville, the city where it all began. They connected deeply to the University of Virginia, making the UVA gardens the ideal choice for their ceremony. For their reception, they discovered the hidden gem of Delfosse Vineyards. After taking a tour, the warm hospitality of the owner and the scenery made it an easy decision for them.

As their wedding day dawned, Margaret and her friends got ready together at the Graduate in Charlottesville. This hotel had plenty of space and gave a very classy look for her getting-ready portraits. Once everyone was ready, we headed to UVA so Kyle and Margaret could share a first look. The location that we chose on campus for this moment was beautiful. They were framed by the grandeur of white columns, creating a symmetrical masterpiece. Getting the formal photos before the ceremony allowed them to truly enjoy their ceremony and reception.

After exchanging rings and vows at their ceremony in the UVA gardens, we caught a beautiful sunset at Delfosse Vineyards. The way that the sun set over the rolling hills was incredible, and these two newlyweds looked like they belonged in a magazine.

Once introduced at their reception, Margaret and Kyle shared a first dance. They did an incredible choreographed first dance that left their guests in amazement. To add an extra touch of fun to the reception, foam glow sticks were distributed to the guests, ensuring a night filled with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories.
