Ashton Creek Vineyard Wedding Venue | Richmond, VA

Brenna and Lev's Ashton Creek Vineyard Wedding in Summer was enchanting!

Lev and Brenna first met while attending James Madison University. They were both at a sorority/fraternity mixer, playing Apples to Apples. They shared a connection and decided to meet up for coffee at Starbucks, leading them to date for two years. However, after graduation, they went their separate ways.

Fast forward seven years later, and Lev had moved to San Francisco. He ended up sliding into Brenna's messages on Instagram, sending her a picture of a Starbucks cake pop. A couple of weeks later, Lev visited Brenna and brought her a sunflower from California. Sunflower has always been his nickname for Brenna. After the visit, the rest is history!

Valentine's Day weekend, which is also Brenna's birthday weekend, they took a trip to visit James Madison University, where their story began. Lev had suggested they walk around campus and visit places special to them years ago. As they walked around, Lev started telling her all he loved about her.

The couple walked by Kissing Rock, a tradition at JMU stating that the person you kiss at the rock is the one you'll marry. Brenna suggested they climb up immediately. Once they were atop the rock, he finished his speech and said, "Will you marry me?" Brenna thought he was joking until he reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a ring.

Ashton Creek Vineyard is a pretty winery just south of Richmond that makes a great wedding venue. The main event space features a stone fireplace and exposed beams draped in tulle and twinkling lights. After touring the Richmond wedding venue, Brenda and Lev chose it because it felt like home to them. The venue has a beautiful staircase that comes down the back deck towards the ceremony, and Lev immediately knew he wanted to see Brenna coming down those stairs in her wedding dress.

They had a traditional Jewish ceremony outside. During the ceremony, Lev was escorted by his parents and Brenna walked down the aisle with her parents to a beautiful wooden arch covered in flowers. The ceremony included a Ketubah signing and the couple circling one another.

Their reception was filled with laughter and fun, and guests danced the night away as Lev and Brenna were lifted on chairs for a traditional Jewish dance. As the night was coming to an end, their guests lined up for a sparkler exit—the perfect ending to a perfect day.
