Main Street Station Wedding in Richmond
Main Street Station Wedding in Richmond | Cameron + Kyle

Everything about Cameron and Kyle’s Main Street Station Wedding in Richmond was just incredible.
Kyle and Cameron met while they were attending The University of Virginia. They both were engineering students and started dating their junior year. Together they still love and support their alma mater! They dated for more than four years when Kyle decided to propose. He took Cameron on a surprise trip to Pendry Hotel on the Baltimore Harbor. This was the first time either of them had visited the city, so they were so excited to explore the area. After they went to dinner, they walked along the harbor, and during their walk, Kyle got down on one knee and proposed!
The wedding day started at Delta Hotel Richmond, and their rooms had the most beautiful views of the city! As a wedding gift, Kyle gave Cameron a trading card for the Cleveland Cavaliers player, Joe Harris. Joe is Cameron’s favorite NBA basketball player, and while in college, he played for UVA. She was so surprised by his gift that it brought tears to her eyes. I love when my couples include sentimental items on their special day. Kyle wore his grandfather’s watch, which was so special for him. Kyle and his groomsmen who were former classmates, all had “WAHOOS” printed on the backs of all of their shirts, giving a shout out to their alma mater.
Cameron shared a sweet first look with her father. They shared a few tears, and of course, he thought she was the most stunning bride ever!
Afterward, it was time for their beautiful ceremony at St. James Catholic Church. The church was beautifully decorated with florals that matched Cameron’s bouquet. Her dad walked her down the aisle with two adorable flower girls before them, and Cameron beamed with delight the closer she got to the altar to meet Kyle.
As the wedding party took the trolley to Main Street Station for portraits, the skies opened up, and it became a downpour. Thankfully it trickled off to a drizzle, but the mist stayed throughout their portrait time. Cameron and Kyle, along with their bridal party, were troopers, and we were still able to capture all their portraits outdoors.
The beautiful historic Main Street Station in Richmond is one of my absolute favorite wedding venues! I genuinely believe that any visit to Richmond isn’t complete without checking this historic building out. It’s located in Shockoe Bottom, right by the canal. When driving on the interstate, you can see an up-close-and-personal view of building as you drive right past the clock tower.
Cameron has always been captivated by the historical look of the train station, and since they’re both civil engineers, they appreciate the architecture of the building. The venue is broken into two sections, the historic Head House, which features stunning floor-to-ceiling decorative windows, marble floors, and beautiful woodwork. The Shed is a long, open industrial space attached to the historic building that boasts views of Shockoe Bottom. One of the neatest parts about this venue is the Main Street Station is still a working train station, and a handful of passengers waited in the sitting area on a train while the reception was in full swing. I’m sure their stop in Richmond left quite the impression with the party going on next door!
Cameron and Kyle ended their night on the perfect note by sharing a private last dance while their guests lined up for the grand exit! As these two came out, their guests held lighted balloons and cheered for the couple.
Congratulations, Kyle and Cameron. I loved photographing your beautiful wedding day! You two compliment each other so perfectly, and it was a pleasure getting to know you and your crew!
