Amanda and Matthew’s Dominion Club Wedding in Richmond was on an absolutely perfect spring day in May.
The summer going into their freshman year of college, they both attended a Pre-Engineering program at Virginia Tech. They officially started dating their sophomore year and graduated together in 2018.
When Matthew was ready to propose, he took Amanda to the Potterfield Memorial Bridge on Brown’s Island. As they approached the middle of the bridge, he got down on one knee and asked the big question. This newly completed bridge has awesome panoramic views of Richmond. And what’s more, Matthew had his brother fly a drone above them to capture the whole thing! They really appreciated having this special moment captured for them!
When I arrived at The Dominion Club for their wedding, I just knew it was going to be an amazing day. With the high ceilings and the gorgeous views this venue has to offer, it offers a classic feel to it. Amanda and Matthew's wedding colors really shined in the venue creating an impeccable spring atmosphere. One of the best parts about The Dominion Club is that they offer both beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy on your wedding day.
Right before Amanda walked down the aisle, instead of having a flower girl, they had a flower dude! He made sure to put on a little show which created a lot of laughter out of the guests. It was a hilariously funny moment! It was a beautiful day for Amanda and Matthew's outdoor ceremony, which was held by the water, and they stood in front of a draped arch adorned with gorgeous floral arrangements.
As we entered their reception, natural light came flooding in from the multitude of windows the venue offers. Not only did they have a wedding cake, but they also had a traditional groom's cake. (There’s no such thing as too much cake, am I right?!) While everyone enjoyed the evening with the funny toasts and traditional dances, it was a night to remember. After dancing the night away, they had their guests line up for a magical sparkler exit.
Congratulations Matthew and Amanda! Thanks so much for entrusting me with documenting this season in your life. From your engagement session, bridal portrait session, wedding day, and designing your wedding album after the wedding, it’s been a joy to work with you guys!
