Maymont Park Engagement Photography in Spring
Richmond Engagement Photographers | Maymont
For this couple’s Maymont Park engagement photos, I think the park brought its A-game! I always love visiting the gardens at Maymont, but on this day it seemed like every single flower, shrub and tree was in full bloom!
How They Met
Tabitha was getting her degree in Studio Arts and Austin was minoring in Cinematic Arts when the two met at Liberty University in photography class!
Tabitha went on to become a photographer whose work’s been exhibited in several galleries and publications and she teaches art, as well! I love that her goal is to show others how they can use their God-given gifts to glorify Jesus!
(I’m always humbled when artists choose me to photograph their wedding! (And maybe a little nervous—ha!))
A few months after meeting in photography class, the two began dating. And when it came time to propose, Austin showed off his own creativity and planned a fun day that he kept Tabitha in the dark about—teasing her with a few clues.
He ended up surprising her with a trip to Grayson Highlands State Park to see the wild ponies.
As they started their walk, it began to snow. It was at that moment that they came upon a herd of wild ponies!
Austin chose the perfect spot to set up his camera to take a ‘picture’ of the two of them. But Austin had actually set the camera to record a video instead, and he proposed to her right there with the snow falling and the wild ponies nearby.
Could it get any more romantic? Seriously!!
During their engagement session, the wild animals at Maymont seemed to want to hang out with the couple, too.
About a half dozen deer came out and stayed nearby, even seeming to follow us a bit as we went from one location to the next!
Here are a few of my favorite images from Tabitha + Austin’s Maymont engagement session!
